This past week we had our fourth annual youth conference at the church here. Every year it is a special time and great blessing to our people. This year was very special because not only did we have with us once again Bro. Tony Howeth but we also had a group visiting from Grace Baptist Church in Zachary LA. The group actually arrived before Bro. Tony and helped with everything from painting the church to handing out tracts and invitations for the conference. During the week, along with being in the services of the youth conference, we were able to take the group to see several special things in our city like a monastery that is now a museum and the statue of Jesus that overlooks our city. We were also able to take them to try some of the traditional foods that are eaten here in Cochabamba. I was very proud of them as everyone was willing to try at least a little of each plate. That is a big feat considering they were eating things like cows tongue and guinea pig. I would also like to say a special thanks to our great friend Bro. Tony Howeth who came to preach the youth conference for us again this year. He is now pastoring the Newton Baptist Church in Covington GA so it was a big sacrifice to be away from his church to be here with us. I also can’t say how proud I was of the people of our church. Probably the biggest difference between this year and past years is that we had almost nothing to do with the planning, preparation or running of the conference. The people of the church did it all on their own. They did a great job and it was a great blessing to see each night the decisions that were made for Christ.
