This past Sunday was Mother’s day here in Bolivia. Here it is a pretty special day, in part because mothers are usually the dominant figure in the family and there is a large percentage of single parent families with the father being absent. We had a special day at church with a combined Sunday School and morning service to fit everything in. Several people got up and gave testimonies giving thanks for their mothers and the influence they have had in their lives. We also had a special program from the children and special gifts that they made to give out to the mothers. Also from the church we gave each mother a rose and a small box of chocolates. In all we had well over a hundred with several moms visiting for the first time. I praise the Lord for my mom and all the moms in our church that have faithfully raised their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
