Tomorrow is a day when many people focus on giving thanks. Some have even started ahead a time to make a list of things that they are thankful for. If we are all honest I believe we have much to be thankful for. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have a personal relationship with the Lord. Also for the opportunity to serve Him here in Bolivia and see Him do a work here. Obviously I am thankful for my family, for the wonderful wife that He has given me and our wonderful (most of the time) 🙂 children that we have. In reality there are so many things that I am thankful for that the list would be pretty long. Part of that list would include some things that perhaps wouldn’t show up on most people’s list. Even though it is hard to say and at times doesn’t seem likely I am even thankful for the challenges and trials that I have had in life. It is only in those times when I can’t see things clearly that I must simply look to Him. It is when I feel like I don’t have the strength to continue on that I must trust in His strength and when there are so many things in life that I don’t seem to understand I can trust that He is the author of my life and knows what is best from me. It is interesting how many times I face challenges that I might not understand, and then one day as I am counseling someone they share with me that they are facing the same thing and I can truly help them. So in this time of giving thanks lets not forget that even when something doesn’t seem like a blessing we can give thanks. Is there something that has happened in your life that although it didn’t seem like a blessing, you can now give thank? Let me know.
