The Christian life has often been described as spiritual warfare and I think we know that is true. From our daily walk to our families we often face battles. This illustration works especially well when it comes to our service to the Lord and His will for our lives. Just like in any battle, what we need most to be able to win, is warriors that are prepared for the battle. That was the idea behind our first ever camp this year called Preparing Warriors. Our desire was to prepare warriors that will go into the battle and serve the Lord. Since this was the first time we have had our own camp we weren’t sure what to expect but were praying that the Lord would do great things. As you can imagine the Lord truly worked and it was one of the best activities that we have had in our church. We had the camp about 30 min outside of town at place called Jungle BJ’s (actually in English) that has soccer fields, pool and cabins for the campers. Every day we had two classes in the morning followed by a service before lunch. Then in the afternoon we had games and competition between the two teams and a special service at night after supper time. As our focus was on preparing warriors we taught on Recruitment (Salvation), Discipline (Relationship w/ the Lord), Moral (Spiritual Growth), Formation (Testimony), Loyalty (Surrender to the Lord), Subordination (God’s Will), Oath (Sacrifice) and Perseverance (What will stop you). The main preacher for the camp was Pastor Juan Pacheco from Arequipa Peru. He has been with us several times in the past for youth conference etc. and is always a great blessing. In all we had 4 that trusted Christ as their Saviour and 4 that surrendered their lives to serve the Lord in the ministry. My prayer is that many of these “Warriors” will go out and conquer in their service for the Lord.
