How often have I heard someone say that famous frase when I challenge them to give their lives to serve the Lord, “It’s too late”. It usually starts with the frase, “I would love to but”. It may not even be said, but it is in the back of your mind there is something that is keeping you from selling out 100% and giving your all to the Lord. It most likely is something from your past that makes you think that you can’t serve the Lord or maybe something in your present like family, job or age that makes you think, “I would love to but just can’t”. Well I am here to tell you that “It is too Late” is not an excuse and that you in spite of your past, present, age, or anything else, can decide to serve the Lord today. Here are a few things that you can think about.
1. Realize that there are no surprises with the Lord.
– You might be thinking “well the Lord could have used me but when I did _______ that must have thrown all His plans in the trash.
– Our God is sovereign and nothing that we do takes Him by surprise.
– He knows exactly where you are and knew that you would be there even before you did.
“He still has a plan for your life”
2. We can’t change the Past
– Obviously there is nothing that we can do to change the past but forgiveness can change the way we look at it.
– If the Lord has truly forgiven us then to Him it doesn’t even exist.
– Satan would love to keep throwing it up in your face but God says I don’t know what you are talking about.
“If it is forgiven then move on”
3. Stop looking at the Past and take advantage of the Future.
– Realizing that we can’t change the future can help us realize that the only thing we can change is the future.
– You have your whole life ahead of you and you should take advantage of each and every day.
– Trusting the Lord and following Him each day will take one step at a time to get you where He wants you.
“Take the first step, He will show you the way”
4. Your Age doesn’t Matter.
– Some use the excuse that they are too young and have their whole lives ahead and need to study etc.
– Others say they are too old and that they can’t serve the Lord any more.
– Here in Cochabamba there is one of the largest Mormon Temples in all of South America and many times we have met retired couples that come and work at the Temple just cleaning etc.
“You can serve God what ever age you are so start today”
There are so many great opportunities to serve the Lord and we would love to help you find that opportunity. If you are interested and want to start serving the Lord today, write me and we will help you find that place. kwhite@goreachtheworld.org
