We praise the Lord for how He is blessing the churches in Bolivia and how they are continuing on with the work. The church in Quillacollo just had their first baptism and Lord’s Supper this past month. In Bolivia it is customary to have what is called a “Día de Campo” where the whole church goes to a park or rural area where they have a picnic and then they baptize in a river or pool that is close by. They had two that were baptized and everyone was excited but the only problem was that it is winter and the water is pretty close to freezing. Needless to say, being baptized in extremely cold water will be an experience they never forget! In the afternoon everyone celebrated the Lord’s Supper at church. It was an wonderful experience for them and the people are really excited about reaching others with the gospel.
Also, as you know the church in Cochabamba is working hard on the construction of their church building. They have the roof finished and are working on construction of the walls to help protect from the elements. This past month they had an unseasonal storm with rain and wind that turned the floor from dirt to mud during the service. The church’s biggest goals now are to finish the walls, pour the cement floors, begin to work on the bathrooms, and other rooms for classes, etc. The whole project will cost about $15,000 so we ask you to pray for them as they face this great challenge.
