As fall quickly approaches I have seen a common occurrence as we travel from meeting to meeting. Most people have let their gardens go and the plants are begging to wither and die. One of the reasons that this happens is because of the weather but it also happens because most people stop picking the vegetables that are being produced. This makes me think a lot about one of the most convicting passages in the Bible to me. Matthew 9:36-38 tells us of the response of Jesus as he traveled from village to village and saw the condition of the people. He was moved with compassion and proclaimed that the harvest is truly plenteous and ready but their is’t laborers to go into the fields and harvest it. All across Bolivia there are boys and girls, men and women that have never heard a clear presentation of the gospel. The reason that they have not heard is because there is no one to go and share it with them. The harvest is truly plenteous and ripe but just as in Matthew 9 the problem is the same, lack of laborers. Jesus in this passage calls each of us to pray for laborers to go out into this harvest and reap it for His honor and glory. This is one of my prayers almost on a daily basis, that the Lord would raise up men and women to help reach these people that so desperately need to hear. We would like to ask you to pray for laborers, but maybe more specific than that we would like to ask you to pray for laborers to Bolivia. One of our goals, while here in the US visiting churches is to see at least one family surrender to go to Bolivia and help us. We are also praying that the Lord would raise up other missionaries to go around the world where there is such a great need. Over the next few months I am going to be sending out some information about Bolivia and the need so that you can better pray for us and laborers to help us reap this harvest.
