Busy and Getting Busier:
This past month was a very busy but rewarding time for us here in Bolivia. We have been very busy in the new church plant and the Lord has been blessing. We have had between 30-40 almost every Sunday with visitors in almost every service. We have also been blessed to see the owners of where we are renting coming to most of the services. The wife has made a profession of faith and is now brining a notebook and pen to every service to take notes from the messages. Things have also been going well in our Bible College. We are now midway through the semester and are giving midterm exams. I am excited to see those who are studying and am anticipating what the Lord is going to do through these men and ladies. At the begging of the month I had to make a quick trip to LaPaz for a meeting with the mission agency that allows us to be here legally in Bolivia. I flew up in the morning, and we met all day to discuss new requirements that the government is enforcing for the mission, and then flew back that night. We also had the privilege to travel to Chile to visit some missionary friends Jason and Lori Holt. Beth was invited to speak at a ladies retreat where they had over one hundred and twenty ladies attend and I preached in two different churches for a family conference they were having. We had a wonderful time and praise the Lord for how He is blessing the ministry in Chile. After our return I was invited to speak at a youth camp here in Cochabamba where there were well over a hundred teenagers many of which were not saved. I spoke on the fruit of the Spirit and how we must be willing to follow God’s word to produce the fruit that we should. Then we had our second intern arrive that will be here for six months. He is just now getting settled in and will start language school in the next week or so.
So as busy as this past month has been, this month is going to be just as busy or maybe more. We have three different groups that will be with us at different times during the month. The first is a missionary friend and a friend of his that is interested in missions. They will be with us for two days and we will be showing them around Cochabamba and visiting the churches while here. Then we have a friend from one of our supporting churches that has a ministry that trains national pastors. He will be giving two classes, one in the morning and one at night for an entire week. Then, towards the end of the month, we have the group that will be coming to work on the construction of our first church. So while it is going to be an action packed month we are very excited about these opportunities and what the Lord is going to do during this time.
Materials Needed:
We now have six confirmed that will be coming to Bolivia at the end of this month to help with the construction of our first church here. There are two groups from two different churches and both have worked in construction most of their lives. This is a great example of how you can use whatever talents God has given you to serve Him. We are very excited about them coming and to see how much work can be done on the church. The only thing we lack now is the materials needed that the men will use to do the work. They are covering all their expenses to get here and back and the church here has to cover the cost of the materials. It is going to be right at $1000 for the materials for the roof and then probably close to that for the sheet rock and framing materials for the walls. If we are able to finish both of those projects we hope to work on the tile floor and some cement work that needs to be done. In total we are looking at around $4000 for everything to finish all three projects. If you would like to help, please let us know at kwhite@goreachtheworld.org and send to Vision Baptist Missions, P.O. Box 442, Alpharetta Ga 30009. Thank you so much for you help and for praying for us.
