Not Ashamed:
We praise the Lord that this past month we were able to participate in the Our Generation Camp that our church and mission have every year. This camp is a little different than other camps in that it is focused on mission’s and reaching the world with the gospel. Almost all of the preaching and teaching is done by missionaries that are either preparing to go to the field or back in the US visiting from the field. This years focus was on Romans 1:16 and not being ashamed of the gospel. The classes during the morning were to help the students share the gospel, teach others and how to deal with issues that could cause them to be ashamed of the gospel. We then had a service in the morning and at night where the different missionaries challenged the students to give their lives to take the gospel to the world and not be ashamed. During the camp the students are given the opportunity to sign a pledge, between them and God, that they are surrendered and willing to give their lives to missions if that is what the Lord wants. We praise the Lord that there were several that put their faith in Christ during the camp and many that signed the pledge. The turn out for the camp this year was so great that next year they are looking at having two camps, one for students and one for college age. I would like to encourage you to take your teens and college age students to the Our Generation camp this coming year. (www.ogcamp.org)
Steps of Obedience:
There is no greater joy that we have, than to see how the Lord is using many of the men here in Bolivia that are in the ministry. This past month, pastor Pablo and the church in Quillacollo had a baptism service. Even though it is winter here, and a little chilly, they had their baptism service at a camp that is outside of our city. They had four that took this step of obedience and were baptized in spite of the cold. This is a big step for many of them, because it is like cutting ties from the religion that they grew up in and many times they can face opposition from their families. Since they are usually baptized as children, their family can’t understand why they would want to be baptized again. We praise the Lord for how the church in Quillacollo is growing and Lord is blessing them with more disciples. We would like to also ask you to pray for them because they are currently looking for a pieces of land where the church can have its own building and not have to worry about paying rent.
Real Fruit:
As we seek to share the gospel and see many people saved, it is a blessing to see when that profession shows real fruit in their lives. We have had several young people saved recently in our youth ministry where pastor Jorge is working and doing a great job. Out of the ones that have been saved there is one young man who’s name is Abraham. Since he got saved he has been inviting and bringing many of his friends and family to church. Several of them have now made professions of faith and his mom is now coming to church pretty regularly. Please pray for this young man and the others that have made professions of faith, that they can continue steadfast in spite of the opposition they face.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for those who made decisions at camp that they will be encouraged.
2. Pray for the church in Quillacollo as they look for land.
3. Pray for the young people in our church as they make decision for the Lord.
4. Pray for our upcoming youth conference this month that the Lord will bless.
