When I was younger, one of the funnest things that my family and I would do, every year, was plant a garden. My brothers and I would have a competition to see who had the better garden and who would have the better harvest. We would pick green beans, corn, tomatoes, and other vegetables by the bucket fulls, but as the season would come to an end, the plants would be full of fruit, but often times there was no time to pick them; so it would just go to waste. In the same way there is a great spiritual harvest that is waiting to be harvested here in Bolivia, and our constant prayer is that the Lord will raise up more laborers to help reap it. While there is still a great need we praise the Lord for the men that He is raising up here in Bolivia, and we are constantly working to help them be more prepared to go into the harvest. One of the activities that we started having last year, to help in this preparation, is a pastor’s retreat. This year we were able to go to an events center outside of the city and have classes each morning and then have lunch together before returning. The focus of this years retreat was growing in different areas of our lives and ministry. We talked about the importance of growing in our ministries, preaching, finances, and on Saturday we had a cookout at my house and talked about growing in our marriages. I am grateful for my good friend Jason Holt, that came over from Chile, to teach in the conference and it was a great blessing for both me and the guys here. Please pray for these men, that the Lord will continue to prepare their lives and that He will continue to raise up many more for His harvest.
