The Lord’s Blessing:
One of the greatest joys in the ministry, is to see the Lord work in the lives of people. This is especially true when that person gives their life to reach others and help them grow also. This is the case of Pastor Pablo Rojas. He was saved early on in our ministry, and is now pastoring in an area of our city called Quillacollo. I sat down with him recently so that he could share his testimony about how the Lord has worked in his life, and how the Lord guided him into the ministry. (If you would like to see his testimony videos, you can go www.operationbolivia.com) The Lord has been using them greatly, and as you saw in our last letter, they are currently raising funds to buy land for their church. The Lord has been blessing and we have received several offerings since our last letter. We had a supporting church give $4000 and another give $500. We have also had three individuals give $1000, $250 and $150. This brings the total to what we have now to $7400. We are praying that the remainder of the $20,000 that we need will come in soon, so that we can secure the land. When you give, you can have a part in helping this church reach many people with the gospel, and see the Lord do a great work in their lives. VBS:
This past month we had our third group visit with us from the US, from one of our supporting churches. They came last year during this time and decided to come back this year to help us with our VBS, during the school break. They were here for almost two weeks and were truly a great blessing during that time. The first week they worked hard to decorate and prepare things for the VBS and also hand out invitations to people in the community. The theme for this year was “Start Your Engines”, with the focus being starting their race towards the goal which is Jesus Christ. They had a missionary story each day, a lesson, along with crafts and games. We had several kids come that don’t normally attend church and several even came the following Sunday to children’s church. After the Vacation Bibles School we were able to go with the group to see many of the sites here in Cochabamba but especially the great need for the gospel. One of the places that we went is called Incachaca. It is about 2 hours outside of our city, going towards Santa Cruz. It is right on the border where the arid region of Cochabamba plummets to the mountainous jungle. It is a very beautiful place and Incachaca has waterfalls and an ominous swinging bridge that is over a deep gorge. One of the most impacting parts of this trip though, is to see all of the towns and villages that are on the way that have no gospel witness. Pray that the Gospel will continue to reach not only our city but many other areas.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for our urgent need to raise $20,000 to secure the land for our church.
2. Pray for our upcoming Pastor’s Retreat that is next month
3. Pray for Bolivia as we will be having elections for president in a few months.
4. Pray for our Bible college students as we finish our second period this month.
