The Virtual World:
In spite of the difficulties that the Corona Virus has caused, the Lord has continued to bless and use the churches in Bolivia. They are still not allowed to have any kind of gathering or services, so they are still meeting online. At first everything was pre-recorded but the people were really missing the fellowship that they had in church so they started having some of their services live online with Zoom. They really enjoyed being able to see and speak to each other and also share with each other their requests and needs. Since they have been having these virtual meetings, along with live services on Facebook, there have been several people that have contacted the churches to speak with the pastor to get more information.
It also seemed as if we were going to have to cancel our anual youth conference because of the restrictions and problems. Well we decided to adapt and have the conference virtually with classes in the morning via Zoom and a Facebook service at night. In the morning classes we taught on how to deal with the crisis going on and still be a witness for the Lord, and how to live for Him. The teenagers from the different churches invited their friends, and since it was all online it was much easier to have new people participate, not having to leave their home. We had a pastor friend from Chile, Jorge Muñoz, speak in the night services and it was a great blessing.
Thank you for Helping :
We would like to say thanks for a special offering that was given that allowed us to financially help some of the pastors in Bolivia that have not been able to have services since March. This was a huge blessing to them and helped them provide for their families for this past month. There are so many people hurting during this time and still a great need, so if you would also like to help, send to Vision Baptist Missions. c/o Bolivian Pastors, P.O. Box 442, Alpharetta Ga 30009.
Ministry Opportunities:
We are now settled in and have started traveling to visit churches and share about what the Lord has been doing in Bolivia. Our desire, during our furlough, is to see the Lord raise up laborers for the harvest around the world and to Bolivia. Along with sharing about the need in churches, I have been able to participate in a Vision Impact Weekend where teenagers come from all over to be challenged about missions and their responsibility. There were over thirty that surrendered their lives to be missionaries during the weekend. I have also been able to help in the Our Generation Training center, helping to teach a class on the Gospels to the second year students. I praise the Lord for what He is doing in these students lives and know that He is going to use them to do great things. Please pray with us, that we will see many laborers raised up for the harvest during our time back in the US.
Prayer Requests:
1. Pray for the people in Bolivia that are suffering from the Virus with little to no medical help.
2. Pray for the Bolivia pastors and members of the churches that are suffering financially because of not having an income.
3. Pray that through these difficulties that the churches can reach many with the gospel.
4. Pray for us as we travel, visiting churches and sharing the need in Bolivia and the world.
