With the events that have taken place in Bolivia in the past few weeks, it just shows how fragile life is and how urgent the need is to reach those who are perishing. At the beginning of March five young people were killed when they fell from the fourth floor of a building, after the railing broke, while protesting with a large group of students. As the large number of students pushed into the balcony area and were arguing and pushing each other the railing failed and several of the students fell while several others we pulled to safety, just in time. The saddest part about this tragedy is that each of those five students that fell to their death will spend an eternity in either heaven or hell.
There was also another tragedy that took place during the same time period that was a lot more personal to us. One of the ladies from our church in Cochabamba was traveling with her son, by bus, when the bus lost control and plummeted down a four hundred foot cliff. (Image above) Twenty people lost their lives and unfortunately the lady, Sonia, passed away in the accident, while her adult son survived. We are greatly saddened by the loss of this sweet lady, but are comforted knowing that she is with the Lord. An interesting side note about this accident is that one of the men that survived was also one of the six survivors of an airplane crash that took place in 2016 in Colombia. I pray that this might help him to think about eternity, if he is not already a Christian, but for the other nineteen that passed away, it is now too late. Many people, on a daily basis, die in Bolivia, many of whom have never been saved. Please pray as we seek to rescue the perishing before it is eternally too late.
