Here in Bolivia and South America in general Easter is celebrated a little differently. Because of the Catholic influence they celebrate more Holy Week. They have many traditions with processions sometimes carrying crosses and of course here they have good Friday where no red meat can be eaten. During this week the focus is generally more on Christ’s death than the fact that He arose from the dead. At the church we wanted to do something special for this week to celebrate not only Christ’s death but also His resurrection. Starting Wednesday night thru Saturday night we had services each night preaching on the last hours of Christ’s life. It was a wonderful time and we had great attendance each night with close to ten visitors on Saturday. Unfortunately we are not be able to have services for Easter Sunday because the government decided to move local elections to this Sunday. During any election there can be no cars on the road or any public or private meetings. So although we can’t have service tomorrow the Lord blessed this week remembering the price the Lord payed for us on the cross.
