(Picture we took last Sunday for Easter)
Well yesterday was Easter Sunday and while many people were celebrating this time at their Easter Sunday service we were at home. We did get to read the Bible about the resurrection of Christ and explain to the girls the real reason for Easter. The government had their local election for Mayor and Governor. Things work a little differently here in that because of a new law the government passed we as also had to vote. When there are elections it is not optional if you want to vote but required. If you don’t vote you can’t do any type of transaction in the bank or leave the country until you pay a hefty fine. Also no public meetings are allowed or cars on the road thus we were pretty much stuck at home for the day. We did vote but the elections came out more for the government and the socialist movement. While we don’t get involved with politics as missionaries or a church, it concerns us because they are making things more and more difficult to be here. Please pray for us and the situation here that the Lord will touch the hearts of our government so that we can continue to preach the gospel here.
