We would like to thank each of you for your prayers for the need to purchase land in Cobija. We currently have $1500 promised for the land and are praying that the Lord will supply the rest. As one of our ministries here in Bolivia that we are helping get started our goal is to help them become a self supporting church. Unfortunately, the land that we were looking at has been sold; so we are now looking at other lots that are not too much more expensive than the other. Brother Lorenzo Laura the pastor there in Cobija wrote me recently to tell me about the situation they are in. They are now renting a small room where they are having services. Close by there is a night club where there is lots of drinking and worldly activities. Several times they have had drunken people enter in the service and they had to call the police to remove them. Some of the people are now not wanting to go to church for fear of what is taking place. This church is in desperate need for their own land and building. Our desire is to purchase land as soon as possible and then begin building them a church building and parsonage where they can live. This would allow the church to function normally and begin to take responsibility for its own expenses. Please pray for this great need and opportunity.
